After suffering substantial damage in 2020 caused by Hurricane Laura, Southgate Shopping Center underwent a renovation to repair and restore the structure. An important part of the Lake Charles community, it was critical that the shops remain open for business during the renovation. The design team determined that a system approach to the building exterior would reduce the impact on the community and achieve the project requirements. The design team selected to install Senergy Sentry Stucco Ultra with MaxGrip Veneer Mortar, an impact and puncture resistant, cement plaster stucco system with enhanced water management. The system features MaxGrip Veneer Mortar, a high strength setting bed mortar used to adhere the stone and thin brick veneer.
