Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital opened in September 2022, specializing in intensive care, including medical, surgical, orthopedics, as well as labor and delivery. The owner and design team wanted to create a modern aesthetic with a strong connection to the New Mexico landscape and color palette, and EIFS was the ideal cladding choice. The building exterior includes Senergy’s Channeled Adhesive CI Design, an Exterior Insulation and Finish System delivering the desired multi-clad aesthetic, continuous insulation behind all cladding types, and a single source manufacturer warranty. The stone veneer was installed using Senergy’s MaxGrip Veneer Mortar, a polymer modified setting bed mortar that can adhere the stone directly to the base coat and mesh over insulation with no height limitations. The exterior includes one continuous air water management system behind the traditional EIFS and masonry veneer eliminating complicated transitions between cladding types and without fasteners compromising the insulation or air and water barrier. The polymer modified mortar was also used to adhere stone to cement board on the inside of the building in the rotunda. Covenant Health Hospital has the performance benefits of a single continuously insulated EIFS system with a façade design in harmony with the beautiful New Mexico landscape.
